This is to everyone at St David's Hall in Cardiff. I am absolutely heartbroken to not be doing that performance.  I was so looking forward to it and to be playing Mendelssohn Concerto with Aurora Orchestra, I think, would have just been the most natural experience ever. They are such an alive and flexible orchestra. I was greatly looking forward to it, but it's not meant to be for now, but it will be in the future. Mendelssohn Violin Concerto is probably the most perfect one ever written, Perfect Concerto, ever written three very distinct sounds. So the first movement is drama on  melodrama.  It's that sort of  almost dramatic kind of passion but acted out drama. The second movement is first of all,  the most spun line you ever have to play in a Violin Concerto. It just feels like it just continues and continues in the most magical yet natural way. It's also the sweetest movement, it has a simplicity to, and it's got this kind of lilting lull, which is so calming and so moving. The last movement, of course, is fun and games and fireworks. Not always fun and games for the soloist or for some members of the orchestra. There's a lot to play, but it is just the most fantastic, perfect concerto. I look forward to the next time I will be playing it in Cardiff.
